DIA MUNDIAL DEL MEDIO AMBIENTE
Con motivo de la celebración del Día Mundial del Medio Ambiente, la Cooperativa La Altagracia, Inc, realizó una amplia jornada de reforestación durante la cual se sembraron 300 árboles para producir sombra a orilla del Rio San Francisco y otros lugares de la comunidad de Jacagua.
El señor Dionisio pérez, coordinador de la Comisión de Medio Ambiente de la entidad hizo una breve exposición acerca de los orígenes de la celebración de este día a los participantes y los motivos para estar siempre prestos a sembrar un árbol.
Expresó que la Cooperativa la Altagracia y todo el Sector cooperativo están comprometidos con un ambiente sano por lo que la institución, además de tener un bosque cooperativo en el Pico Diego de Ocampo para la preservación de la cuenca del Rio Yaque y sus afluentes, realiza jornadas de reforestación en otros puntos importantes de la provincia.
